Large‑scale amateur league events remain one of the biggest drivers of participation in cue sports across North America. Championship tournaments organized by groups such as the American Poolplayers Association, Billiard Congress of America pool leagues, USA Pool League, and Valley National Eight-ball Association continue to attract thousands of competitors each year.
The 2026 BCA Pool League World Championships were held at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino as part of the CSI Expo, bringing together league players from across North America for one of the largest amateur pool gatherings in the world.
Meanwhile, regional qualification tournaments continue across the United States as teams compete for coveted spots in the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas, an event featuring prize pools exceeding $1.5 million.
These amateur competitions provide a critical pathway for players of all skill levels, offering opportunities to compete in national events while helping sustain the grassroots foundation of the sport.
